Keeping equipment to a minimum? Use some kitchen gear you've already got, a crock pot or a saucepan on a very low heat will make a perfect savoury snack.
Savory Cheese Fondue
1 garlic clove
3/4 cup wine or beer
500g shredded cheese (Tilsit, Raclette, gruyere, Swiss), about 2 cups
1 tablespoon flour
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
Bread cubes, raw vegetable strips, sausages and other cured meats for dipping
Wood or metal skewers
Rub the garlic clove all over the fondue pot, then add the wine. While wine is heating, toss shredded cheese with the flour in a bowl or Ziploc bag. When wine begins to bubble, add the coated cheese and the mustard. Stir until melted, and keep on a low temperature.
